Rup Investments’ Navua Sawmill Now Solar Powered
Rup Investments’ Navua Sawmill has successfully transitioned to on‑site solar energy, reflecting Rup Investments’ sustained commitment to industrial sustainability and cleaner operations. This milestone also establishes Rup Investments’ Navua Sawmill as Fiji’s first solar-powered commercial sawmill, reinforcing Rup Investments’ commitment to renewable energy and sustainable industry.
This new solar power system supports the sawmill’s operational energy needs with renewable generation, reducing dependence on traditional grid power while lowering its environmental impact. The installation strengthens energy reliability for the sawmill’s daily operations and contributes to more efficient resource use across our forestry and retail activities.
The Navua project aligns with Rup Investments’ broader energy strategy to integrate renewable solutions into diverse business units, demonstrating how smart infrastructure investments can enhance both operational continuity and environmental stewardship.
With this addition, Rup Investments continues to build on its growing renewable energy footprint across Fiji. The company now has over 530kW of on‑grid solar installed across its retail and industrial sites and will keep expanding this capacity, reinforcing our long‑term commitment to sustainable growth and a cleaner, more resilient future for the communities we serve.
